About us

AIM Development is a custom software practice based in Aberystwyth, Wales. Founded and led by Alex Matthews, it brings more than two decades of commercial development experience to organisations that need systems that actually fit how they work.

Alex designs and builds software for small and medium enterprises through to national bodies, across bioscience, agriculture, construction, membership organisations and the public sector. Work ranges from modern web applications and integrations to long-lived systems that replace or sit alongside legacy tools. Typical projects include membership and assurance platforms, laboratory and survey systems, mapping and land-data tools, and operational software that has to stay reliable for years.

The emphasis is on solutions that are fit for purpose, not generic products. That means listening carefully to requirements, suggesting practical options, delivering what was agreed, and staying available afterwards. Clients often work with AIM Development over many years because the relationship is treated as ongoing support, not a one-off build.

 

Based on the west coast of Wales, AIM Development combines independent, hands-on delivery with a track record on Welsh and UK projects — from Natural Resources Wales and Hybu Cig Cymru to membership bodies, farms and local businesses.
